As the holder of a student visa you:
Have multiple entry to and from Australia for the duration of your visa, without any restrictions;
May be able to include dependents such as your spouse (married or de facto partner) and your children in your application;
May apply for “permission to work” once you have arrived in Australia and have commenced your course of study;
Can apply for sponsorship by an Australian employer through either the temporary 457 Business Long Stay visa or the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS);
May be eligible to apply for onshore permanent residency through the Skilled Overseas Student Visa category after completion of at least two years full-time study and provided you meet the basic requirements and in most cases, pass the Points Test.
About Student Visas to Australia
A Student Visa provides you with temporary resident status and is valid for the entire duration of your course. After completion of your studies, you will be required to leave Australia by the date specified in your visa, unless you are making an application for another temporary or permanent residency visa.
Are there any restrictions on a student visa?
Once you arrive in Australia and commence your course of study, you will be required to comply with a number of visa conditions related to your attendance and academic performance.
Some of the common conditions imposed on student visas include:
Must not perform any work (until course has commenced and permission to work has been granted).

EARNING WHILE STUDYING IN AUSTRALIA
In Australia, international students can apply for permission to work. Student is permitted to work 20 hrs a week and full-time during vacations. But If you are studying masters or doctorate courses under subclass 574, then you are permitted to work unlimited hours a week.
